Vermona M.A.R.S. & M.A.R.S. Control

A Different M.A.R.S.
This is the Vermona M.A.R.S. Not to be confused with the SMS (Synthetic Music Systems) MARS.
This M.A.R.S. stands for Monophonic Analogue Rack Synthesizer.
The M.A.R.S. is a monophonic synthesizer which gives you real analog power in only 1u 19'' rackmount.

Features include:
bullet2x VCO with sawtooth, square and pulse; 4x sub-oscillator; ring modulator; sync; 2x glide; glissando
bullet24dB low-pass; resonance VCF Filter
bullet2x LFO
bullet2xADSR

There's also the M.A.R.S. Control which is an optional available programmer which controls each parameter of the M.A.R.S.. All in all there are 56 controllers on it.
The M.A.R.S. Control doesn't need an extra power source, it gets the necessary voltage from the M.A.R.S. (thru the MIDI cable).
The programmer is 2u 19'' rackmount or can be used as desktop device.

Vermona M.A.R.S. and Me
When I was getting the SMS MARS, I got asked by Andy, you sure you're getting SMS MARS and not the Vermona M.A.R.S.?
Actually I did plan to get the Vermona M.A.R.S. too, but at the time, price was a little high - like £500 for the M.A.R.S. & the M.A.R.S. Control bundle.

Well, come June 2005 and I found a 2nd hand Vermona M.A.R.S. & M.A.R.S. Control (in light blue) at a reasonable price. So here it is, a different M.A.R.S.!
And Vermona M.A.R.S. sounds so much like Veronica Mars!

Funny that this is light blue and my other SMS MARS is blue...
I think you could still buy this, I'm not sure. It seems that many places that used to sell the M.A.R.S. don't have them anymore...
But anyway, I got mine at a good price, me think.

M.A.R.S. Control

The M.A.R.S. Control is actually very thin,
designed to be either rackmounted or used as a desktop module.

Midi In/Out are on the side,
with a DIP switch for configuring Midi Channels & Midi Filter.

This is how thin it is!

Re-racking Vermona M.A.R.S.

What? is there such a need?
Yes. I hate wallwarts. And the Vermona M.A.R.S. uses another one of those AC12V adaptors (I got like 5 or 6 of these now, with various MAM and other German synth stuff).
-> See M.A.R.S. Re-Rack page !!
